Who We Are
Woodstock Bible Church is a multigenerational, Christ-centered community dedicated to growing in faith, making disciples, and serving others in Portland, OR. We believe in the transforming power of God’s Word and strive to live out His truth in our daily lives.
Our Mission
Our mission is to glorify God by making disciples who love, serve, and share the gospel. We seek to equip believers through biblical teaching, meaningful relationships, and active service in our church and community.
What We Believe
God: We believe in one God, who eternally exists as three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is the Creator and sustainer of the universe, without beginning or end.
The Bible: God’s inspired and authoritative Word, guiding our faith and lives.
Sin and Brokenness: We believe that our world is broken and twisted by sin, and that each person falls short of God’s glory.
Jesus Christ: We believe that Jesus Christ is God incarnate, born of a virgin, who lived a sinless life. His teachings, as revealed in the Bible, provide the path to healing and salvation.
Salvation: The ultimate answer to sin and brokenness is found exclusively in the saving work of Jesus Christ. Through His atoning sacrifice on the cross, He paid the price for our sins, and there is no other name by which we must be saved.
Resurrection and Eternal Life: Jesus demonstrated victory over sin and death through His bodily resurrection. Those who put their faith in Him receive the gift of eternal life, while those who reject His call will spend eternity separated from God.
The Great Commission: Jesus commands His followers to be His light and share the good news of salvation and forgiveness with the world.
What to Expect
When You Arrive
Our Sunday gatherings start at 10 AM with a discussion-based Bible study. Feel free to come a few minutes early to grab a donut and coffee and connect with others. During Bible study, we offer a Children’s Ministry for ages 0-14, while older kids are welcome to join the study.
Worship Service
Following Bible study, we transition into the sanctuary for worship through music and preaching of God’s Word. Bible study runs until 10:45 AM, and the main service begins at 11 AM.
5th Sundays
Church is more than just Sunday services—it’s about living out our faith. On months with a 5th Sunday (about four times a year), we replace Bible study with a family-friendly service project. These may take place at church or in the community, so reach out if you have questions. Our worship service still begins at 11 AM as usual.
