What We Believe
The Woodstock Bible Church exists to worship and glorify God as our creator, heavenly father, and through His son Jesus Christ. Through the divinely inspired and infallible word of God recorded in the Bible, we seek to understand and follow the teachings of Jesus Christ.
These are the most important truths we believe that the Bible teaches:
We believe in one God, who eternally exists as three distinct persons- Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe God is without beginning and without end, and that the universe was made and is sustained by Him.
We believe that our lives and every good thing we experience in life come from God.
We also believe that our world is broken and has been twisted by sin, such that each person falls short of God’s glory because of their sin.
We believe that the ultimate answer to the brokenness of the world and the problem of sin is found exclusively in the saving work of Jesus Christ.
We believe that Jesus Christ is God incarnate. He was born of a virgin and lived a sinless life.
We believe that the life and teachings of Christ, as revealed to us in the Bible, point the way to healing for our brokenness and salvation from our sin.
We believe that Christ’s atoning work on the cross paid the price for our sin, and that there is no other name under heaven by which men must be saved.
We believe that Jesus Christ demonstrated victory over sin and death through his bodily resurrection. Because of this historical fact, we have confidence that anyone who puts their faith in Him receives the gift of eternal life.
We believe that Jesus calls all people to turn from their sin and repent, and those that reject this call will spend eternal life without God.
We believe Jesus commands all his followers to be his light and to share the good news of salvation and the forgiveness of sins to the world.
